Mission Statement
To improve adult immunization rates in the state of Utah through networking, access, and education.

Objectives

  • Promote influenza vaccination of all adults with special emphasis on those at high risk
  • Promote pneumococcal vaccination of adults at high risk
  • Promote vaccination against hepatitis A, hepatitis B, pertussis, tetanus, human papillomavirus, chickenpox and zoster for at risk adults 18 years and older

Coalition Meetings

Coalition meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of every month 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
Projects are proposed, developed, implemented and evaluated through through the general coalition member meetings.

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee determines the agenda for the general coalition meetings. These duties include; determining presentation subjects and speakers, scheduling ongoing coalition business, and determining the current information or problems to be included on the agenda. The committee goal is to focus the direction of coalition activities: promoting partnerships, networking and consensus among coalition members to achieve goals and objectives with measurable outcomes.

College Recommendations Development and revision of college vaccine recommendations
Health Care Workers Development and revision of health care worker vaccine recommendations
Hospital Patient Policy Development and revision of vaccination policy for hospital patients
Pneumococcal and Zoster Outreach Develop strategies to increase awareness of the need to vaccinate and improve access for hard to reach seniors
Provider Outreach and Insurance Coordination Working with Medicaid to increase vaccine reimbursement rates for adult immunizations; developing approaches to improve vaccine screening among providers who serve adults
Media Coordination

Planning and implementing unified statewide media messages regarding influenza

Zoster Vaccination Project Utilizing American Recovery & Reinvestment Act funding to promote zoster vaccination and offer a limited quantity of zoster vaccine through a pilot project to uninsured adults 60 years and older.
