In support of Utah Adult Immunization Awareness Month, the Utah Immunization Program and the Utah Adult Immunization Coalition are hosting the 2012 Adult Immunization Conference. This conference will address the current status of adult immunization across the country, compared to Utah, and an overview of recent vaccine-preventable disease outbreaks in Utah. The conference will highlight efforts from a variety of venues to improve adult immunization in Utah.  Presenters will also address the challenges Utah faces in improving immunization rates among our adult population.

Conference Highlights:

Presentations will include opening remarks from Senator Karen Mayne, a national adult immunization perspective from our keynote speaker, Dr. Litjen Tan, Director of Medicine and Public Health, American Medical Association, and a more localized perspective from Dr. Tamara Sheffield.  Additional presentations will focus on Utah’s immunization registry, reaching high-risk populations, vaccination and billing strategies, community immunization collaboration, and employer based immunization topics.
